My parents are here!!! In mississippi, and we have already done some cute things, but I want to share our day together today.
I had an early class (even managed to grab a bagel beforehand) and afterwards met my mum and ed on campus. We went to trails to pick up Heather and went on a road trip all round the suburbs of Oxford to go and see the beautiful Lake Sardis (post here)
We ended up on some country roads through a sort of redneck cul-de-sac full of inhabited trailers and noticed the car needed filling up. Miles from civilisation, we found Wallace's (Bo Wallace probably) bait shop which appeared to be stuck somewhere in history but it did have a gas pump.
We actually spent a while in this place that time forgot and then found our way to the lake.
I think Sardis is my favourite place here, and our Labor Day at Sardis was definitely my favourite memory we've had here. Mum got out our picnic food and we sat on a bench and ate bread and crisps and fruit. It's been such a lovely sunny day, a welcomed change for our usual weather expectations for November.
It's safe to say I'm very happy to be reunited with these two but me and Heather also couldn't resist a lil photo op either
Then mum wanted to show us her house (not hers, the B&B place they are staying for two nights) and it is the cutest little place. It's in the middle of no where, surrounded by trees and leaves and fields of horses.
I wish I had taken some more photos of the place but you get the idea, cute little country house etc. we sat outside on the swinging couch for a while talking and then decided to take a walk around.
My dreams came true at this moment as the cutest baby puppy came running up to us, followed by a still small but slightly older dog and they followed us round all afternoon.
You probably all know my dog obsession and can imagine how much I'm missing my little Bruno back in England so I have been well in need of some puppy cuddles! He was super excitable and jumped up trying to bite my hair and hands and jacket but I was just so happy to meet a puppy to play with.
We walked the dogs around and down to the horse fields and I raced Puppy there and gave him lots of cuddles on the way.
Heather also made a doggy friend and they looked so cute together
The horses field looked so picturesque but then it started to get a bit dark and cold so we wandered back up to the house.
Back at the house was a giant chicken run, the epitome of country.
And back at the house, I had more puppy snuggles on the swinging couch and we chilled for a while.
It was such a cute day, and exactly all the things that me and my mum love so I was glad we got to do it together!!
I will definitely write again and share everything else we have been up to while they are here but I loved today and couldn't wait!!
Speak soon!
Em x
