San Fran bay with the baes

The next morning, everyone met at breakfast after finally getting a bit of a lie in! We mostly decided to check in to our next hotels and meet in the afternoon after having the morning doing all different things.

Me and Danae hit the mall and picked some things up and got lunch. Then we went to Ghirardelli Square, a famous chocolate factory and to our luck there was a chocolate festival going on! We arrived as an ice cream eating contest was beginning and watched that while waiting for the others to arrive at the meeting point. We saw some cute shops and got free chocolate every time we entered the chocolate gift shops and cafes so we obviously made our way round several times.

When we had gathered everyone, we headed to a bike rental shop, test rode some and went on our way to the Golden Gate Bridge. It took far longer than expected to reach the bridge with more uphill climbs than imagined, but after about an hour of cycling and photo stops, we made it!

The air was icy and the wind was resistant but the view was sensational. It felt amazing to be up there and I did feel very excited and proud that the group had just about organised ourselves enough to make something go to plan!

Classic Italian. Fabrizio with his cigarette, helmet, go pro and signature shades on a great landmark. Amazing.

Most of us only made it halfway across the bridge before going back to the bike shop to try and miss the darkness setting in. We waited for the others back at Ghirardellis until we heard from the rest of the group who were waiting for us at dinner. We ubered over and after dismissing the idea of the Cheesecake Factory because of a 2 and a half hour wait for a table, we met them in an Irish pub.
We stayed there for a while, drinking and laughing. Brendan and Josh's bromance continued. Me and Neal remained princesses.  We really made the most of what actually was a final night together in the same city.

Tomorrow, me and Danae leave San Francisco. She goes back to London and I'm onto New Jersey. But not before a final day in SF.

Speak soon,

Em x
