Night flights and bright lights

I’m back!! After finishing an amazing year at school it was finally time to get myself back on a plane. With the anxiety of travelling alone and uncertainty of flight cancellations, I arrived at the airport around 7 hours early. I whizzed through security, bought new sunglasses, drank coffee and boarded my flight with ease.

Touchdown in NYC happened on schedule and before I knew it I was reunited with my best friend!

Waking up in Taylor’s apartment right in the middle of the city was so special. With our priorities straight, we headed straight to get our nails done ready for the rest of the week. After, we walked over to one of her fav coffee spots called Culture, known for THE BEST cookies in NYC (tried, tested and confirmed by me) to meet her boyfriend Drew on his lunch break. A sudden thunderstorm set in and we sat and watched the rain pour. After a couple of rounds of lightning, Drew decides now would be a good time to head back to the office rather than wait it out! Safe to say Taylor and I stayed put until the rain cleared up a bit. We walked around some more and ended up at Ruby’s for lunch which was great.

Now time for the good stuff. The real New York City. We made our way to the Rockefeller and saw some people inside a fountain and I’m thinking it’s hot, that’s looks refreshing, im in!

We hung out in that area for a while before walking through Times Square luckily I had started to dry off already. I never would have imagined it would be so easy to walk everywhere but that’s pretty much all we did. We wanted to go to a cool rooftop bar and we arrived but they wanted to see my ID which I didn’t have with me oops. We ran back to the apartment to pick it up and on the way out grabbed some ice pops to help cool off on the way back over.

The rooftop was amazing with such a great view of the Empire State Building. Unfortunately, the pics don’t show it but I had taught Taylor how to use her watch to set a self timer for taking photos.

After ordering 2 virgin mojitos and taking a minute to chill, we headed back to get ready for dinner. Drew joined us and we each got 4 tacos to try and some margaritas. We all fell asleep watching the new series of the bachelorette in true American style!
