Beautiful San Fran. The last stop of the tour. We woke up on our last morning of camping to pack down and clean everything up before leaving Yosemite. Despite it being our last morning, spirits were high and the clean up party was quick and effective meaning we could get on he road sooner.
After a while driving, we stopped at a farmers market in Modesto where our tour leaders bought us each a smoothie as a thank you for helping with the clean up.
After another drive we stopped to take photos of the amazing Bay Bridge, the 7th longest bridge in the world.
On arrival to the main part of the city, we went straight over to Pier 39 to explore and take wind swept photos. Our tour then regrouped ready for a sunset boat ride across the bay.
Many candid photos later, the party was in full swing. We were greeted with an array of snacks including bread, cheese and chip n dip. We also got free access to the bar then we headed out onto the deck to take in the sights and the sounds of the boat party music.
We danced right at the front of the boat for hours and I completely lost track of time. It was so much fun to be together with everyone, enjoying ourselves, singing our hearts out (Pete) and dancing as the sun went down. We used the opportunity for plenty more group pictures obviously including Gillian our resident unicorn.
Despite the unexpected cold of the bay, we endured the outside for the duration of the trip with hilarious highlights including Josh and Brendan's flourishing bromance and Becky's Ariel onesie.
Definitely one of the funniest parts of the whole trip.
We went to get dinner at Players sports grill on the pier where I somehow ended up with a free mojito (the dream) and some selfies from my phone hijackers.
Our farewell dinner ended in notorious speeches and singing, group hugs and heartbreaking goodbyes. Especially to Gillian who had to miss going to the bars as she had to get to bed.
On the way off of the pier, we played on these musical piano steps and got an uber back to our hotel.
We decided to stay in and drink on the roof terrace of the hotel. It was so pretty! Until, even in 2 jumpers, we got to cold and went into the conference lounge to continue to chat and drink.
Eventually everybody went to bed and we made plans to meet in San Fran the next day, not as a tour group, but as a group of great friends!
Intentional cringe
Speak soon,
Em x
